Rowing History:  I began rowing in the fall of 1996 at the University of Kansas.  I competed as a collegiate club rower from 1996 up to 2001.  After completing my graduate education, I moved to Boston, MA to continue with competitive rowing.  In 2002, I joined Riverside Boat Club and began the training required to compete at a world class level.  After 3 years of training and continued improvement I am part of a boat that has earned the right to represent the US abroad.

Employment & Education: B.S. Civil Engineering University of Kansas May 2000;

M.S. Civil Engineering University of Kansas August 2002; I am a structural engineer at Camp, Dresser, & McKee (CDM) in Cambridge, MA.  Typically I provide the structural engineering services required for water and wastewater treatment plants design and updating.

Reasons for Rowing: I enjoy the team aspect that you can not find in any other competition.  I relish each day of pushing beyond limits previously thought unattainable.

 Most Influential People: Wife (Deanna), Parents, Brothers and Sisters

Ultimate Rowing Goal: Gold Medal 2008 Olympics

Greg Ruckman

Objective: To win a gold medal in the lightweight men’s quad in Japan.

Most Significant Achievement in Rowing: Representing the United States in the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia and Athens, Greece.

Reasons for Rowing: I love being near the water.  I have also found that rowers tend to be the nicest, most honest, fun-loving people in the world.

 Most Influential People: My high school coaches Tim Ulsaker and Vernon Rowe taught me a work ethic that has allowed me to achieve goals that I never thought possible.  They always believed in me, and taught me that nothing is impossible.

Ultimate Rowing Goal: To represent the United States in the Olympic Games.  I also want to coach once I complete my competitive rowing career.

Sean Wolf

Objective: To compete at the 2005 World Rowing Championships, gain international rowing experience, and earn a medal.

Most Significant Achievement in Rowing:  Representing the United States at the World Rowing Championships in 2000 as a member of the men’s lightweight pair.

Reasons for Rowing: I began my rowing career as a coxswain in 1989 at Northeastern University, and started rowing my senior year.  After graduation, I came to Riverside boat club to pursue my love of rowing. It has since become my passion and I do it for the love of the sport, the people I meet, and the places it brings me. The love of competition and my aspiration to go faster are what drive me to continue training.  

 Most Influential People: My mother and father have been the strong forces through out my life.  Both have given me the values and skills of perseverance and determination to obtain the goals I wish to accomplish in life.
